Meet Our Inspiring Teachers
We welcome an eager and enthusiastic Sharleen. She has just bought Active English from Karen in Durban. We wish them both much success.
Sharleen believes that successful teaching needs to be interactive. An essential feature is to establish a positive classroom climate that will in turn foster self motivation and enthusiasm towards learning.
When it comes to lesson presentation, the way that you do it is just as important as what you do. Asking a question with interest conveyed in your tone of voice and facial expression, as opposed to sounding tired and bored, makes a world of difference to the type of response you will get from young learners. Your manner needs to be confident, relaxed, self-assured and purposeful.
Active learning offers a much more powerful learning experience and the need to foster learner's self-esteem is fundamental. Teaching methods need to be positive, encouraging, praising and valuing.
If you live in the Durban area and you would like your child to benefit from this challenging and fun extra mural be sure to contact Sharleen.
